Code Of Conduct & Student Policy
Westmoreland Business College tries to maintain the standards through academic excellence and discipline. As a result all students are held accountable for his or her conduct during school hours.
Listed below are guideline and policies concerning students conduct.
Full-time
Dress code must be observed by all students from Monday to Friday the guidelines relating to as stipulated by the institution:
• Male – Shirts must be tucked into pants at all times
• Pants and skirts must be worn at the waist
• Under garments should not be shown at any time
• Females – If uniform is designed that the blouse tucked into the skirt it must be worn that way with the belt and neatly tucked into skirts at all times.
All day school students must wear their uniform at all times if, they only have one class or exam for the day.
Part-time
Students should be modestly dressed in whenever they attend class or business.
• Sleeved shirts and blouses must be appropriately for the occasion with dress, skirts and pants at all times.
• Pants and skirts must be worn at the waist
• Undergarments should not be shown
Behaviour
All students must conduct themselves in a manner that will enhance Learning and positive an attitude once you become a student.
They are all expected to be responsible for helping to create an environment that is conducive for learning and social interaction as such:
Students must be quiet and orderly when moving around.
Unnecessary noise that disrupts the classes and the learning process will not be tolerated.
There should be no use of phone for social pleasure during class time.
The use of indecent language, acts of vulgarity, loud boisterous and other inappropriate behaviour are prohibited at all times.
Weapons & Drugs
The Administration reserves right to search student at any time. Students who fail to comply with this request could face disciplinary action.
Students should pay attention to the following:
The carrying of knives, sharp implements, guns and other weapons is prohibited (Students who carry scissor as tool should at all cost avoid using them as weapon). The matter will be reported to the police and students involved may be suspended or expelled.
The possession, use of, or trading in illicit drugs (including marijuana and its by-products) on the campus is strictly prohibited.
Smoking, consumption of alcoholic beverages and all illegal activities are prohibited on the.
Attendance & Punctuality
Students are required to attend all classes regularly and on time this institution will NOT take any responsibility for problems students may face who, without good reason, fail to attend classes. It is expected that students will make every effort to fulfill the mandates of WBC.
Examination is held twice per term/semester and all students are expected to sit their exam.
Tests are given at the deaccession of teachers. Students are expected to be on time for exam and if they late the invigilator have right to NOT admit a student in an exam if he/she is more than 15 minutes late.
Students are required to attend at least 90% of classes for each course. Failure to do so may result in a student being prevented from sitting the examination.
Students who are pregnant must wear their uniform in different design and must at all times dress appropriately while at school.

Admission
Prospective students must submit below and the following are documents needed for submission when applying to study any Course offered:
• Proof of qualifications (for those who have)
• Passport sized picture
• Copy of birth certificate
• Recommendation letter
• Return reference form
Based on documents received, a Math and English Language pre-test will be administered after which, application is processed and decision made for the individual to be notified.
All documents submitted for admission become the property of the school.
Requirements
4-5 CXC subjects in ranges 1-3, a member of one of the extra-curricular clubs or complete 30 hours of community service. If prospective student does not have the required amount of subjects to begin their Course, he/she will be prepared to sit exams while engaged in their Area of Study. Students must maintain an average grade stipulated by the institution to sit their final exam.
Repeated Course of Term
A student may repeat a term/course if his/her grades are unsatisfactory. This may be the student’s choice or upon the advice of the office. When a course is repeated, previous grades are not carried forward. When a term is repeated, all grades will appear on transcript but only the last one will be used in the student’s grade point average (GPA).
Transcripts
Official transcripts may be forwarded at the student’s request to other institutions.
